Friday, 06 July 2007

Opinion Research, an infoUSA® Company (NASDAQ:IUSA), yesterday announced the acquisition of NWC Research, an Asia Pacific research company based in Australia, with offices in Singapore and Malaysia. NWC Research will join Opinion Research’s market research group, expanding the company’s research presence in the Asia Pacific market. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

“We are delighted NWC Research is part of our corporate family,” commented Vin Gupta, chairman and CEO of infoUSA. “We are looking forward to working with an established management team that will provide the platform and leadership necessary to help us successfully expand our market research business into the Asia Pacific market.”

According to Gupta, “This acquisition makes perfect strategic sense, coming on the heels of infoUSA’s acquisition last week of Guideline Inc., the premier single source provider of custom business and market research and analysis. Our clients want a global footprint and our goal is to build a truly international global market research business.”

NWC Research’s reputation is predominantly in customer-based research in the business-to-business, business-to-consumer and government sectors in both the Australian and global marketplaces. They provide extensive experience in the services, utilities, manufacturing, IT, and retail industries, as well as the rapidly growing tourism sector.

Greg Wayman, CEO of NWC, will stay with the company and report to Gerard Miodus, president of Opinion Research. NWC’s existing management team will head up the combined Asian operations.

Gerard Miodus states, “The acquisition of NWC Research is an exciting development, not only because of the quality of its management, workforce and client base, but also because of the many synergies that NWC brings in partnership with our custom-based market research enterprises in the US, the UK and Greater China. We know NWC well from many shared programs and we look forward to NWC’s leadership to greatly accelerate Opinion Research’s growth in the Asia Pacific region.”

Greg Wayman commented, “We are delighted to join forces with Opinion Research and to be part of such a dynamic organization as infoUSA. Having worked closely with Opinion Research over the past 10 years, we believe that the combined resources will drive strong growth in Asia, and accelerate our existing expansion strategy."
