Matthew O’Grady has been named president of Claritas, a service of The Nielsen Company and the premier provider of intelligent marketing information and target marketing services. The announcement was made yesterday by Susan D. Whiting, executive vice president of The Nielsen Company. O’Grady, based in New York, succeeds Robert Nascenzi, who resigned last month.

O’Grady, 46, has been with Claritas since 1990. He was previously executive vice president of sales and service at Claritas, responsible for managing all client relationships.

“In his 17 years with Claritas, Matt has successfully established solid relationships with both clients and employees to benefit the strategic growth and direction of the service,” said Whiting.

Before joining Claritas, O'Grady was group vice president for sales and product management at San Diego-based National Decision Systems, which subsequently merged with Claritas in 1999.

O'Grady holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
