Convio Introduces 'Nonprofit Online Marketing Academy'
Wednesday, 18 April 2007
Convio, Inc., a trusted partner that leads the way in helping nonprofits use the Internet strategically to get results, yesterday announced the creation of “The Nonprofit Online Marketing Academy,” a pilot program to help nonprofit professionals learn how to use the Internet strategically to become more effective in fulfilling their organization’s mission.
The Academy, which will begin in Washington DC with a one-day workshop on May 15, 2007, will teach participants how to develop a robust Internet plan, conceptualize online fundraising campaigns, and efficiently execute online fundraising programs, regardless of the platform or technology provider.
Those already working online will learn how to strategically take their programs to the next level. The program is led by Convio’s Client Success Services team of experts in online strategy and integrated and interactive marketing who have helped a wide range of nonprofit organizations achieve strong results.
“The Academy is a natural extension of Convio’s popular online marketing workshop at our conference last year,” said Xenia “Senny” Boone, Esq., executive director of the DMA Nonprofit Federation. “Convio’s hands-on approach and expertise in this field is a terrific formula for the new Academy, which helps fill the educational needs of our sector.”
The Nonprofit Online Marketing Academy will feature a combination of lectures, interactive workbook sessions, small group feedback, and question and answer sessions. The one-day program concludes with participants learning how to bring together the workbook activities and curriculum to create an action plan that they can take back to their organization for execution.
“While the Internet has become an integral part of the marketing and fundraising strategies for many nonprofits, our conversations with people in the industry show that there is a gap in the practical, hands-on education needed to succeed,” said Vinay Bhagat, founder, chairman and chief strategy officer of Convio, Inc. “This Academy will help professionals weave the Internet into their strategies and create an action plan, complete with metrics and goals. They will also get an opportunity to ask questions and get advice from peers as they develop the know-how and resources to succeed.”
The day-long workshop will include the following topics:
· Value of integrated marketing;
· Web site traffic;
· Email file growth;
· Cultivation;
· Fundraising campaigns;
· Technology considerations; and
· Making it all work.
