DHL Speeds Service to the US from Europe

DHL, the world's leading global express delivery and logistics company, has announced it has reduced delivery times from multiple points in Europe to the US market. As part of an ongoing DHL effort focused on enhancing global transit times to the US market, US importers, and European exporters can now take advantage of one-day delivery to the US from six European countries.
Earlier flight departure times from Europe to DHL’s principal air and ground hub in Wilmington, Ohio and an extended air network supporting service from major European cities to DHL’s UK hub in East Midlands have enhanced connectivity along the transatlantic route.
With the air network enhancements, customers can now receive DHL’s market-leading international next day service from key European population centers to all major metropolitan areas across the US, as well as its standard two-day service offering. DHL had already provided next day delivery service between Europe and the New York City area.
“This network enhancement will ensure customers are provided with the most competitive express service offering to and from the largest markets in Europe,” said Lindsay Birley, executive vice president of International Services for DHL. “DHL is able to leverage these air network enhancements with our strengthened US infrastructure to help customers operate more competitively within the US-European trade lane.”
DHL’s International Express services, which include Worldwide Priority Express, International Document Service, and DHL Import Express, are now upgraded to next day service from specific European markets.
Markets receiving the upgraded service(a) to the US include the United Kingdom (Birmingham, Bradford, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Newcastle); Germany (Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfort); France (Paris); Netherlands (Amsterdam); Italy (Bergamo, Brescia, Bologna, Genoa, Milan, Rome, Turin, Verona); and Belgium (Mechelen).
Plans are in place to extend next day service from additional European countries as DHL enhances its EU-USA network.
DHL’s enhanced service along the transatlantic route is the latest in a series of upgrades to DHL’s international network serving points to and from the US market. The latest upgrades to DHL’s network include a new international gateway in Southern California to enhance the shipping service to and from Asia-Pacific and the Western US; a new gateway in Merida, Mexico to enhance service quality and meet the growing needs of DHL customers shipping across the US-Mexico border; and a North America Trade Lane initiative launched late last year to speed and expedite cross-border shipments for US, Canadian and Mexican companies.
