Carla Hendra, President, OgilvyOne North America/Co-CEO Ogilvy North America, Joins Unica Board of Directors

Unica Corporation, a global provider of enterprise marketing management (EMM) solutions, has announced that Carla Hendra, president, OgilvyOne North America/Co-CEO Ogilvy North America (NA), was elected a Unica director at its 2007 annual stockholders’ meeting. Hendra replaces John Landry, who did not seek re-election to the board of directors,
Hendra, a pioneer of digital marketing, joined Ogilvy in 1996 as executive group director, IBM Direct/Interactive globally. In 1998, she was named president of OgilvyOne and OgilvyInteractive. She manages Ogilvy NA's interactive, direct, database, loyalty and emerging technology marketing services for brands such as IBM, American Express, Yahoo!, Cisco, SAP, Ameritrade, Unilever, Allstate, Wyeth, and Six Flags.
Hendra, who was named "Advertising Woman of the Year" by the Advertising Women of New York in 2005, is a member of the board if both the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and the 4A’s.
Prior to joining Ogilvy, Hendra was executive vice president of Grey Direct and also served as general manager of Barry Blau & Partners. Hendra earned her BA in history of the arts from the University of Chicago.

According to Unica CEO and Chairman Yuchun Lee, “Carla is a tremendous addition to our board. With her business acumen, creative vision and intimate knowledge of the needs of marketers and their agency partners, she will be able to contribute to all aspects of our business.” Lee added, “She is a perfect complement to the other successful business leaders on our board.”
Unica’s board also accepted the resignation of Michael Balmuth who resigned as a director of the company in order to devote full attention to his venture fund, Mainspring Capital Partners. In connection with Balmuth’s resignation, the board approved a reduction in the number of its directors from eight to seven.
Yuchun Lee commented, “Michael Balmuth and John Landry have been active and committed board members, contributing to Unica’s growth over many years. In fact, Michael was one of Unica’s first outside investors, and I am especially grateful for his belief in us when we were still a small, privately held company.” Lee continued, “I and the rest of the Unica board thank Michael and John for their services and wish them continued success in their new endeavors.”
