hawthorne direct, the direct response TV advertising agency, has named Laura L. Smith production coordinator.
Timothy R. Hawthorne, founder, chairman and executive creative director of hawthorne direct said, “Laura is a solid addition to our creative and production team. We are pleased to have her join hawthorne direct."
Smith’s responsibilities include supporting hawthorne direct’s creative directors and supervising producer in the coordination and execution of all creative department operations. She also will act as lead support for the creative and production assistants. Smith will provide assistance to the team as needed for all elements of creative and production, from script writing, pre-production, production to post-production to create a best-in-class hawthorne direct branded DRTV commercial.
Smith has over fifteen years experience in the field of production. She was most recently the Equity Stage Manager for Quality Hill Playhouse in Kansas City, Missouri. She previously assumed that role for the Unicorn Theatre and The New Theatre Company, both in the Midwest. For nearly six years she was a sound and light technician for Royal Caribbean International. Smith holds a B.A., in Fine Arts from The University of Missouri-Kansas City and a B.A., in English/Theater Studies from Niagara University in New York.
Smith will work out of hawthorne direct’s headquarters in Fairfield, Iowa. Smith resides in Fairfield, Iowa.
