Before joining Millard Group, McAleer spent five years in various circulation positions at The Atlantic Monthly and Harvard Business Review.

McAleer joined Millard Group as a publishing broker in 1982. She was brought in to Millard Group to initiate a publishing brokerage and management effort that has transformed Millard Group into one of the top list companies representing the publishing industry. McAleer’s contributions impacted Millard Group’s business from the very beginning of her tenure when she was the first broker to use a PC to support her clients’ circulation plans. She also provided significant input in the use of technology to address client needs and operational efficiencies.

McAleer progressed through the organization from her start as a broker to vice president to executive vice president where she was responsible for all sales activity. She teamed up with Ben Perez in 1993 to purchase Millard Group from Steve Millard, a partnership that saw Millard Group grow from 60 employees to over 200.

McAleer also took a very active role in the direct marketing business as she served for many years on the board of the New England Direct Marketing Association. She has also been actively involved in the Direct Marketing Association participating in the List Leaders Group of the List Council and the Circulation Councils’ Operating Committee.

McAleer has made many significant contributions to Millard Group, her clients and the direct marketing industry during her 30 year career. She will remain closely associated with Millard Group as she will continue to provide support for a number of major client relationships.

She is looking forward to spending more time with her husband, Ken, and her daughter Jennifer.
