Harte-Hanks, a direct and targeted marketing company worldwide, announces its next major release of the Ci Technology Database™ (CiTDB, version10.0), concluding a significant two-year effort to enhance the collection and delivery of key market intelligence across the IT [information technology] and telecommunications marketplace.

"We've enhanced our world leading business and technology database with new areas of focus, building on the previous version's push into servers, enterprise software and storage," said Randy Wussler, managing director, market intelligence, Harte-Hanks. "Since our previous 2005 release, we've added key market intelligence for more than 30,000 data warehouse installations, 23,000 open source software installs, 12,000 cluster server installs, and more than 100,000 business intelligence software installs. And in Version 10.0, we are introducing critical new market intelligence for network services, network infrastructure and telecommunications installations at businesses worldwide."

The Harte-Hanks CiTDB tracks IT and business data at nearly 700,000 locations in more than 25 countries worldwide, focusing primarily on North America, Europe and Latin America, with a growing presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Harte-Hanks, key content in this year’s enhancements include new intelligence regarding businesses’ network security and infrastructure, covering firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network directories and patch deployment. This release also includes detail on the deployment of advanced network services including VPN [virtual private networks], VoIP [voice-over-Internet protocol] and Web conferencing. The CiTDB also now provides insight into where automated call distributor and interactive voice response systems are installed.

"As the technology market evolves, the CiTDB keeps pace with latest technological advancements and tracks turnover of critical IT and C-level decision-makers," Wussler said. "During the past year, the CiTDB has added market intelligence on nearly 40,000 business sites that have at least one deployed data warehouse, as well as detail on the type of network server management tools being utilized at more than 50,000 key business locations. The net result of this new intelligence is a bigger sales pipeline and greater return on investment for our client sales and marketing programs."
