Matt Moog Leaves Q Interactive Matt Wise Named New CEO
Wednesday, 19 July 2006
Q Interactive, an online marketing services provider, has announced the appointment of Matt Wise, its chief of sales and marketing officer, to the position of president and CEO upon the resignation of Matthew Moog, the exiting president and CEO, who after nearly 10 years at the helm has decided to pursue a lifelong desire to start his own company. Moog is a member of the Direct Marketing Association’s Board of Directors.
Wise joined the company more than one and a half years ago and has served as one of the chief architects of the company's recent growth. During the past two years, Q Interactive has grown into a recognized leader in online lead generation and targeted e-mail services with more than $65 million in revenue at the end of 2005.
"Q Interactive has been fortunate to benefit from Matt Moog's leadership over these many years and is equally as fortunate to have an executive of Matt Wise's caliber at the ready to steer its future," said Guy R. Friddell, III, executive vice president of Q Interactive's parent company Landmark Communications, Inc. "The company has seen rapid growth and established market leadership in its new focus areas of Lead Generation and Targeted E-mail and Matt Wise is the right person to harness that momentum to lead the company forward in its next phase of development."
Wise is a pioneer and expert in the field of online marketing who has used his entrepreneurial talents in both start-ups and established businesses. Before joining Q Interactive, he served as senior vice president of account services for Draft Worldwide, the largest direct marketing and promotions agency in the United States. Wise also held senior management positions with LuckySurf, an entertainment and direct marketing company, Delphion, a spinout of IBM focused on global patent software, and Classified Ventures, an e-commerce company that runs Apartments.com, Cars.com, Homescape and co-branded solutions for 140 newspapers.
Wise has been entrenched at Q Interactive, leading the sales, client services, business development and corporate and consumer marketing teams. Under his direction the company launched the Q Network, a targeted advertising network with more than 1,000 participating Web sites.
"Q Interactive has a very bright future based on the quality of its people, the strength of its business model and its leadership in Matt Wise," said Moog. "I am proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the years and am very optimistic about the company's future."
Q Interactive was founded in 1995 and launched its leading consumer savings Web site, CoolSavings.com, in 1997 to enable advertisers to deliver coupons and savings offers to its registered site users. After registering more than 22 million consumers on its site by the fall of 2002, the company launched an advertising network, now called The Q Network, to aggressively extend its consumer reach for its advertisers to hundreds of partner sites on the Internet. Today, The Q Network reaches 16 million unique monthly consumers across the Web sites of top publishers such as About.com and Weather.com.
"Matt Moog leaves behind big shoes to fill," said Wise. "His legacy lies in every aspect of the Q Interactive business. He has been a terrific partner for me to work with this last year and a half as we have worked to expand our core service lines and scale the Q Network. I look forward to continuing to build on the foundation we've established."
In January of this year, the company changed its name from CoolSavings, Inc. to Q Interactive reflecting an evolution of the company's business to meet the growing needs of advertisers and publishers. More specifically, the company refocused its service lines to help the nation's top advertisers drive in-store and online sales and generate qualified leads for their outbound direct mail, e-mail and telemarketing efforts.
Today, Q Interactive is one of the industry's premier Lead Generation providers, having delivered more than 100 million leads for a diverse client base that includes high-value brand names such as Walt Disney World, JC Penney, Gap, Procter & Gamble, Lending Tree, Netflix and BMG Music Service.
