Tuesday, 11 July 2006

Carlson Marketing is pleased to announce the promotion of Russ Johannesson to executive vice president of US Client Services. In this role, Johannesson is responsible for Carlson Marketing’s US business, spanning all of its clients across eleven US marketing services agency offices.

Johannesson and his Client Services team lead the development and implementation of business strategies that strengthen Carlson Marketing’s client relationships with their consumers, employees and channel partners. Based in Chicago, Johannesson reports directly to Jim Schroer, president & chief executive officer, Carlson Marketing.

Most recently, Johannesson served as executive vice president of Marketing Solutions. In this position, Johannesson was responsible for Carlson Marketing’s solution design capabilities including the channel, employee, and consumer marketing practices, custom learning group and product management.

“I’m thrilled to have Russ at the helm of our client relationships,” said Schroer. ”One of the first things we did when I came onboard was to listen to our clients. We’ve realigned around the priorities they’ve outlined for us. We’ve refocused our service offerings based on what they’ve asked for and Russ is helping us take this customer-centric approach to market. What really makes us different is that we’re able to combine compelling marketing concepts with our capability to design, deliver and measure the return of the entire program.”

Before joining Carlson Marketing in 2001, Johannesson was vice president of Business Development for CultureWorx, an employee performance management solution company acquired by Carlson Marketing. Previously he spent 14 years in various marketing and management consulting roles with SAI, Sapient Corporation, Perot Systems, Deloitte Consulting Group and First Chicago.

Johannesson holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
