Harte-Hanks Announces Support for Goodmail's 'CertifiedEmail' Program
Tuesday, 09 May 2006

Harte-Hanks, Inc., a direct and target marketing company and provider of leading e-mail marketing solutions in Harte-Hanks Postfuture, announced a "business partner" relationship with Goodmail Systems, Inc.

Harte-Hanks Postfuture will serve as a non-exclusive reseller of CertifiedEmail, a solution that applies a recognizable certification to e-mail on the Internet. CertifiedEmail is designed to provide a level of security against phishing and e-mail-perpetrated fraud, while also providing client senders a means for protecting their brands' reputation. By meeting certain accreditation standards set by Goodmail, Harte-Hanks Postfuture clients can utilize Goodmail's CertifiedEmail to communicate authenticity to recipients.

"Reputation is the next wave in e-mail marketing," said Richard Merrick, managing director, Harte-Hanks Postfuture. "Already, ISPs [Internet service providers] use reputation, in conjunction with authentication technology, to sort e-mail traffic and make decisions about legitimate e-mail and spam. While there are numerous ways to earn and build this reputation among ISPs, Goodmail CertifiedEmail offers an e-mail methodology which leading ISPs have recognized. Further, by applying an icon in the e-mail, it gives an easy way for consumers and business e-mail recipients to recognize that their e-mail has arrived as designed from a trusted source."

Harte-Hanks is offering CertifiedEmail as a distinct adjunct to its forthcoming release, Harte-Hanks Postfuture Version 5.0, Enterprise Edition.
