Tuesday, 25 April 2006
Experian Consumer DirectSM, a provider of online direct-to-consumer credit reports, scores and monitoring, announced that April 2006 marks its 10-year anniversary providing Quicken® Personal Finance Software customers with access to a suite of credit products and educational information.
In April 1996, Experian Consumer Direct and Intuit Inc. began their relationship by providing Quicken customers with instant access to their credit report, score and monitoring through Experian Consumer Direct’s secure online site. Today, Quicken customers still benefit from the convenience of having full access to their credit information, which is a critical part of managing their personal finances.
“Our relationship with Quicken was the first deal we signed for the company and the start of the successful program we have today,” said Ed Ojdana, group president of Experian InteractiveSM. “I had the pleasure of working with the talented Quicken team at Intuit then and continue to enjoy doing business with a company dedicated to helping consumers with managing their finances, which is part of our mission as well.”
Many questions consumers have about their finances involve their credit. By knowing what information is in their credit file, consumers are better prepared when applying for a loan or making a major purchase using credit. Interest rates and loan terms are determined using many factors including the consumer’s credit history. Also, with access to Experian Consumer Direct’s credit monitoring product through Quicken, consumers can stay current on key changes to their credit report which could be an indication of identity theft.
