Creative Direct Response Names Greg Schmigel to Board and as Newest Officer

Creative Direct Response President Geoff Peters is pleased to announce that the CDR board of directors has elected Greg Schmigel, who serves as vice president/art director, to the board and as its newest officer, effective immediately. Schmigel was chosen following the resignation of former senior vice president Pat Rainey.

Schmigel has been an employee-owner at CDR for eight years. He manages a staff of six in the art department. Schmigel works with CDR’s national clients such as National Cancer Coalition, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Toys for Tots and others.

Pat Rainey began her direct-mail career more than 30 years ago. She joined CDR as a receptionist in 1982 and through her dedicated service was promoted to several positions, including senior vice president of CDR’s list division, National Fundraising Lists. Rainey is well known and respected in the industry and played a major role in securing the millions of names the agency rents, exchanges and manages. While Rainey has chosen to resign her position, she remains a consultant to CDR.

“On behalf of CDR's board of directors, I am delighted to welcome Greg to our deliberations,” said Peters. “Greg and his department have been involved in providing top-notch creative input to our various divisions, and Greg has personally worked on everything from designing direct-mail packages, Christmas ornaments, display ads, and even hood designs for a NASCAR cause-marketing client. We are excited to have him share his creative thinking with the rest of the board.”

Schmigel said, “I am very grateful and excited about this opportunity to serve on CDR’s board of directors. As a graphic artist who started in 1998, this opportunity shows the possibilities of professional growth within the agency.
