Abacus, provider of cooperative data, data management and analytical services for data-driven marketers, announced that Bob Fetter has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Data Management Services. In his new role, Fetter will lead efforts to continue the momentum of Abacus' data management offerings including dbEDGE(TM), ClearEDGE(TM) and ChannelView(R), as well as advance further development for the company's portfolio of data management solutions.
With proven success in both cooperative databases and data management services, Abacus is uniquely positioned to leverage both disciplines in order to improve results for direct marketers.
Since formally bringing data management offerings to the Abacus suite of products three years ago, Abacus has seen wide market acceptance by large enterprise marketers, specialty retailers and catalogers alike. Gaining an industry leader like Fetter further validates Abacus' focus on enabling the data-driven marketer to achieve better results by strengthening the link between data, database marketing and analytics.
Fetter comes to Abacus with nearly 20 years experience in database marketing. Prior to joining Abacus, he helped design over 150 customer databases for major business-to-consumer and business-to-business companies. Also well versed in multichannel campaign management, he helped design and build next generation campaign management systems for catalog, retail, financial and insurance companies. Other accomplishments include developing online channel strategies, including email, search and affiliate, for multichannel merchants. He also has served in executive positions at EDS and ClientLogic.
"Based on positive feedback from our customers and the industry, we expect our data management solutions will continue to change the future of database marketing, just as the Abacus Alliance changed prospecting for catalogers," said Brian Rainey, CEO of Abacus. "We will look to Bob to guide the innovation and delivery of our data management services to best meet the ever evolving needs of our customers."
"The breadth of data management services offered by Abacus is above and beyond those of competitors and their vision is perfectly in-tune with where the market is headed," said Fetter. "I am thrilled to be a part of a company that is collaborating with their clients to drive the evolution of our industry."
Over the past three years Abacus has delivered on its promise to offer leading database marketing solutions and recently won the 2005 NCDM Gold Award for Technical Applications. Today over 25 marketers have selected Abacus' data management services to enable them to make better marketing decisions.
