MarketingExperiments.com Helps Marketers Become Certified in Online Testing
MEC to Offer New Professional Certification Program for Marketers
Monday, 06 March 2006

MarketingExperiments.com, an online research laboratory, announced it will share its expertise in online split testing with marketing professionals across the globe through its Certified Split Testing Expert course.

The course is the first in a series of certification programs to be offered by MarketingExperiments.com (MEC). As part of the course, participants will design, run and analyze the results from a split test on their own existing Web pages. Doing the actual split test and seeing how specific changes result in higher revenues will allow participants to really experience how split testing can benefit their business, rather than simply studying lectures or textbooks.

"We've completed and published extensive research on split A/B testing and know it's important to anyone who plans to market anything online," said Flint McGlaughlin, director of MEC Labs. "We feel that by offering this course, participants will be able to implement our research in their own businesses. By the end of the course they should not only have learned how to be an expert in split testing, but also they will have seen how that testing has brought in more revenue on their own sites."

The course is separated into four 90-minute sessions instructed by Flint McGlaughlin, the founder of MEC, Nick Usborne, a senior editor at MEC and author of "Net Words: Creating High-Impact Online Copy," and Guy Tasaka, the former director of research for the New York Times. The sessions can be attended live or they can be downloaded and viewed at a more convenient time by participants. After the four sessions are completed, participants must take an exam to receive their certification as a split testing expert.

The first live presentation of the course will be April 13, 2006, at 4 p.m. (ET). The complete course, including the presentations, complete recordings, print materials, examination and certification, costs $495.

"We are excited to be able to offer a more formal educational component to marketers," said McGlaughlin. "This is the first in a series of courses designed to bring a level of accreditation to the marketing community. The first course will provide marketers with a foundation in testing and experimentation as well as give them the opportunity to achieve real gains through their Web site."
