Parks Associates Releases Alert: Avoid Needless Spending
Wednesday, 01 March 2006
Parks Associates released a warning today to executives and managers in the digital living industries that some firms which aggregate data are reselling information from Parks Associates that is already freely available through its Web site (http://www.parksassociates.com/free_data).
CEO Tricia Parks invited all interested parties to visit Parks Associates' Web site to avoid spending research dollars unnecessarily.
In particular, eMarketer, the content aggregator, is selling data that is already provided free through Parks Associates as white papers, press releases, and industry presentations. Recent white papers available through Parks Associates' Web site include The Future of Gaming is Networked, Outlook for Home Management Systems, Making TV Meaningful: Consumers and IPTV Applications, and Reaching the Unreachable Consumer: Advertising in the Digital Age.
"The practice of aggregating and reselling data that we have released at no fee continues to come to our attention," said Tricia Parks, CEO of Parks Associates. "We encourage potential buyers to visit our Web site and download these freely available resources."
