Merkle Cited as a Database Marketing Leader by Independent Research Firm
Tuesday, 17 January 2006

Database marketing agency Merkle announced that it has been cited as a database marketing leader in "The Forrester Wave(TM): Database Marketing Service Providers, Q1 2006," from Forrester Research, Inc. Merkle maintains its position as a leader from Forrester, which first cited Merkle as a leader in an April 2003 brief.

Merkle President and CEO, David Williams, said, "We are thrilled to be recognized once again as one of the nation's leading database marketing services providers. The recognition is especially rewarding because we know that it is due largely in part to the outstanding feedback provided by our clients regarding the positive impact of database marketing. I am very proud of the continued hard work and effort by our staff, who has established Merkle as one of the very best in the database marketing industry."

In an accompanying brief entitled "Merkle's Analytics Put It Ahead Of Most Database Marketing Service Providers," from Forrester Research, Inc., Merkle was also cited as being "the fastest-growing provider in the managed database market."

This growth was due to Merkle's ability to attract large, world-class marketing clients and help them improve performance through the use of quantitative approaches to customer management, targeting and measurement. The brief also stated that Merkle takes a proactive, analytically driven approach, has a top-notch delivery staff, and takes a smart approach to acquisition marketing.

Merkle was one of the 10 top-rated database marketing service providers that the research firm evaluated from an initial list of more than 100 companies. Each of the 10 service providers was examined across 125 criteria that were grouped into three high-level buckets: current offering, strategy, and market presence. As part of the evaluation, customers of each database marketing firm were surveyed.

David Williams added, "The Forrester brief is another positive indication that the marketplace is beginning to acknowledge the significance of data-driven strategies within today's changing marketing landscape. Organizations are beginning to understand that they cannot rely on yesterday's mass advertising approaches to realize their desired return on marketing investment. The integration of quantitative approaches to marketing are, by far, yielding the best overall results in the marketplace. "
